Nominated Twice for Premier of Queensland’s Export Award 2011

pmt Water Engineering has proven experience and performance of over 20 years, in remote locations both here in Australia and overseas.
Export Markets:
Notably, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and other Pacific Rim island nations. Also ASEAN – south east Asian countries.
Prefabricated steel water tanks are suitable for fast-track supply and delivery, which are then bolted on-site to install and commission into service. They particularly suit the export market-place and its Public, Corporate & NGO customers. The tanks are economic, often off-the-shelf (in stock), prefabricated and designed as very compact consignments (as little as 2% of ultimate cubic volume/storage). Mostly of dead-weight and mass. They are convenient for low cost containerized shipping or rapid deployment by aircraft and helicopters in scheduled and contract timetables.

What We Do

Two decades ago we did not strongly focus on Municipal tank requirements for town water storage or recycling, treatment of water and sludge processing. However, today we do, as we have witnessed the demand for larger, taller and “high-end” quality tankage. Driven perhaps, in Australia and New Zealand by the growing populations and recent extraordinary drought conditions.

High-end quality storage tanks match the longer Design & Service Life sought for these assets. These assets are now incorporated into Asset Registers by Water Authorities and Municipal Town Councils. This controlled flight to enhanced quality and lower maintenance water tanks has better suited the product and services we offer at pmt Water Engineering. Especially the bolted on-site tanks with factory applied coatings. Typically to ANSIAWWA D103 design code.

Municipal and town water tanks and digester processing tanks have been supplied and/or installed by pmt Water Engineering from:
Perth to the Philippines and Papua New Guinea, Qatar to Queensland and also, Kingaroy in Queensland to Kihi Kihi, in New Zealand.

We specialise in prefabricated tanks, (both atmospheric and pressurised) mostly in steel, coated with various factory coatings. These are bolted on-site for a complete installation including “turn-key” either in existing so called Brown or new Greenfield sites.

Tanks for water, potable water, sewage, recycling & re-use water, sludge and biological processes such as digestion, including methane & ethanol production.

SEAWATER, RO & DESALINATION AND DRINKING WATER

There is an increasing use of membrane filtration & treatment, typically Reverse Osmosis “(RO)” to achieve desalination water from the sea or brackish water. This increase for both potable drinking water and industrial or irrigation use, has created demand for:
Tanks with exceptional coatings and protection to resist corrosive seawater and RO membrane permeate water. Demineralised water and these desalination waters are often described as “hungry”. They have been stripped of various salts etc and they now tend to become more corrosive and thus hungry to redress the chemical imbalance present in these treated waters.
We offer a range of materials, coatings and linings to help combat this corrosive hunger.

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS & SPECIFICATIONS

Locations of these Tanks & Digesters invariably encounter Siesmic-earthquake conditions. Especially in Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Elsewhere, high winds or Cyclones & Hurricanes present challenges in the design of the tank/s and foundation civils. Particularly, the tall narrow “Standpipe” storage tanks we are asked to build.
Flat terrains & topography common in Australia and the Middle East also need careful consideration at the design stage. All these loads and conditions and remote or coastal locations are routine design & execution challenges for pmt Water Engineering and the collective teams we represent.

We provide solutions, on sand or in the snow for liquid management and storage.

What We Did

  • Philippines
Multiple tanks for Coca-Cola Bottlers, San Miquel Corporation and others
Tanks for US Filter – Veolia
MSIP project for Department of Agarian Reform. Hundreds of tanks to Mindano, partly funded by AusAID (Australia Aid). Installed by John Holland Group Asia)
  • Middle East
RO demineralised water storage tanks (2) for Bechtel in Bahrain. The principal being ALBA, govt of Bahrain.
Tanks (5), rapid deployment for Keppel Seghers in Qatar. The principal being the Public Works Authority.
RO and other water storage tanks, several power projects in Oman. (Customers and principals are commercial-in-confidence).
  • Europe
Aid funded rural/provincial tanks in remote locations in South East Asia. Indirectly for head contractor BP Energy (customer and project data is confidential)
  • New Zealand
Tankage for the diary industry at Te-Rapa in New Zealand, North Island – WSTS.
A Town Water tank for the local municipal council in Kihi Kihi on the North Island. Tanks had glass fused to steel coating to surpass technically an older existing concrete tank on site.
